Kid-friendly Wedding Favor Ideas
Many couples must decide when planning a wedding if children will be allowed at their ceremony and reception. Oftentimes, children are not only allowed but are a part of the celebration, but increasingly, couples have wanted to accommodate not only the children in the wedding party but children who may be in attendance with their parents. One great way for children to feel included in the wedding is by providing kid-friendly wedding favors to them. Here are some suggestions for favors.

Coloring Books and Crayons
Coloring books and crayons can be picked up at a local dollar store and are probably some of the best favors a kid could get. It will give them something to do while waiting for dinner or during the speeches so that they are not disruptive and everyone at the table can enjoy their meal while the little ones color their new books.
Small Toys
If you know the ages of the children that will be in attendance, you can pick up some toys for them to play with. This will preoccupy them and they will be happy to receive a small token of appreciation from the bride and groom, especially if they are delivered by hand by the couple.
Though they should never be considered “toys”, sparklers are a fun way to get older kids into the wedding fun. Teenage kids are the hardest to please at a wedding since they’d rather be out with their friends, so supplying them with some cheap wedding sparklers can really transform your entire reception. By far the safest option to hand to your kids are 36” wedding sparklers because they can hold the burning tip far away from their body. You’ll still need to provide adult supervision to be safe, but older kids can usually handle sparklers safely.
Travel Games
Easy to pick up at any store, travel games are great for several children to play with all at once at a table, or even a separate table you can set aside for them. These games might be activity books they can do together, board games, or card games. If the family traveled in from out of town, they will be appreciative of something that will keep the kids busy on the drive home, too.
Bubbles and Confetti
Bubbles are a universally loved toy for children of all ages, and confetti is a classic celebration item. Kids will get hours of enjoyment from blowing bubbles all throughout your reception hall, and confetti is a great choice if you don’t want to supervise your kids with items like wedding sparklers. Though you may need to pay a small fee to have the wedding venue clean up after all of the confetti use, it is a small price to pay to have your kids entertained with wedding favors for the entire reception.
Keep in mind that children love to be included in festivities, including weddings, and rewarding them with small tokens of thanks will mean the world to them and their parents as well. The best part is that kid-friendly wedding favors are typically much less expensive than those purchased for your adult guests, so choosing one of these fun ideas won’t set you back too much money.
